Legislation on prophylactic vaccination of the population was amended and supplemented.

The President signed Act No. ARU-705 of 2 August 2021 "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population".

The law amended the Labor Code and the Public Health Law.

According to part three of Article 113 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the event of a threat of quarantine and other infectious diseases, if the employee refuses to undergo preventive vaccination in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor (in the absence of contraindications for health reasons), the employer has the right not to allow the employee to work.

According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Public Health", in the event of a threat of quarantine and other infectious diseases dangerous to humans, preventive vaccination can be introduced by the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This Law will enter into force on the day of its official publication.
