"Perspectives for further development and expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia".
The delegation of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Mr. I.M. Umakhov arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit on December 1 at 11:00 am, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan hosted the "Round Table" on the theme: "Perspectives for further development and expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia".
The organizers were: Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments, Russian-Uzbek Business Council, South-Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbek and Russian companies engaged in the fields of chemical, light, machine-building, agricultural, aviation, metallurgy, oil and gas equipment, energy, hydraulic engineering, etc.
The purpose of the event was to facilitate the establishment of trade relations between Uzbek and Russian companies, working out the issues of creating new joint ventures and implementing new investment projects.
During the round table, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov informed the guests about the economic reforms in our country, and investment opportunities, for Russian companies in the Uzbek market, on measures taken to liberalize the economy and the foreign exchange market, improvement of business environment, business support, protection of rights and legitimate interests of small businesses and private entrepreneurship, increase the investment attractiveness of the country's economy, and also about the conditions for foreign investors in existing and newly created Free Trade Zones (FTZs).
Also, issues of mutual cooperation on strengthening cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries were discussed.
It should be noted that in the Republic of Uzbekistan there are more than 950 enterprises with the participation of the Russian side, including about 810 joint ventures and 150 enterprises with 100% Russian capital. The representative offices of more than 60 companies and companies of the Russian Federation are accredited. In turn, about 570 enterprises with the participation of residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan were created on the territory of Russia.
